Kalani Industries Pvt. Ltd., (KIPL) is 43-years old. It was begun in 1974 to take over the business of Saurabh Construction Company, a group partnership firm which was engaged in the manufacture of Cement Pressure Pipes, R.C.C. pipes etc. since 1964. The Company had a paid-up capital of Rs. 52.26 Million (USD 1.31 Million) and net-worth of Rs. 180 Million (USD 4.33 Million) as on 31st March, 2006. KIL has been profit-making since its inception. To improve the synergy in the group, the Cement Pressure Pipes business was transferred to MRK Pipes Limited and now the company is engaged in the Real Estate Development & Construction, Food & Beverage activities and Wind Energy Generation.

Real Estate Development & Construction: The Company has already executed various large scale residential and commercial projects to perfection. The first Row House project of Indore had 150 Row Houses in the prime residential locality of Shrinagar Extension and we are proud to say that we made it. The company has recently developed a multi-storied residential complex comprising of 130 apartments collectively called "Suniket" at Shrinagar Extension Colony, Indore.

Wind Energy: To ensure the development of sustainable energy sources in the country, the company has established 3 Wind Energy Projects. The first Wind Energy Farm is at Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. Setup in 1998, it comprises eight 230 KW ENERCON Wind Turbines of 1.8 MW. These are the latest gear-less wind turbines having variable speed and pitch technology. The second project was stated in 2001 at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and it had twelve 230 KW ENERCON Wind Turbines of 2.76 MW. The third project was begun just last year, at Gudepanchgani in the State of Maharashra for 1.65 MW. Site selection for a fourth project of approx. 10 MW, is presently going on.

Incorporated in April 2000 as “Kalani Infotech Ltd.” which got changed to “MRK Pipes Ltd.” in November

In 2003, the company took over the manufacturing of Asbestos Cement Pressure Pipes from Kalani Industries Ltd.

Today, all its units are working at 100 % capacity factor utilization
